Choosing E-Liquids

Vaping has been considered a comparatively safer option for smokers. This is basically owing to the lack of carbon content in vaporizers and e-liquids. But for all those who are new to vaping, especially for smokers who switch to vaping, the beginning can be slightly turbulent. This is mostly to the lack of experience in choosing the right e-liquid online. It takes most people a little amount of time and the trial and error method to find the right flavor and nicotine concentration that suits their preferences perfectly. There are of course a few things that you should keep in mind while choosing your e-liquid online.

Check the Charts
Generally the flavorings that are used in the making of e-liquids are food grade but you should still read all the manufacturer’s data charts and clinical reports before you choose your e-liquid online. Oil-based flavorings are dangerous and should be avoided. Some flavorings, particularly the creamy ones or dessert flavored ones, contain Diacetyl. Companies are required to mention if their flavors contain Diacetyl. While trace amounts of the compound are acceptable, too much of it is bad for you. So make sure that you read all the data about what is in the liquid before you buy.

Nicotine Strength
Choosing the nicotine concentration in your liquid depends a lot on your preferences and vaping habits. If you are at an advanced stage in vaping, you should probably go for lower nicotine content, but if you are just beginning, you would want to up the nicotine content. It basically depends on your preference as well as the ultimate aim of your taking up vaping. There is no accurate litmus test to find your perfect nicotine concentration.

The PG: VG proportion
PG: propylene glycol, VG: vegetable glycerin
The liquid base used in e-liquids is mostly a combination of the PG and VG bases, the proportion of which is always printed on the packaging. Choosing the right proportion, again, comes down to your preferences. Higher ratios of the VG base are more suitable for the advance vapors, while they do not work on starter kits as a higher VG content will end up clogging the wick. Some people might be allergic to PG, and VG bases will be the smarter option. So this proportion too depends on your vaping preferences.

The main thing to remember while buying e-liquid online in the beginning is that you are on a hit and trial run, and you would do best to choose the smallest quantity liquid bottles until you find your perfect match.
